Hello! I’m Tian.
This is the page where I’m supposed to tell you that I’m a script supervisor, list my skills and achievements and so on. But you can see all that on my CV, so I’ll say something else…
Cinema is a kind of medium that motivates how we think and feel. It’s powerful because it can show us other ways of engaging with the world, not in a didactic or intellectual sense, although it can be, but often through an emotional, imaginative, and inspiring experience. For me, that’s the best of cinema, and it can be achieved in many different ways across genres.
As for continuity, it’s not always needed to achieve this, for example, in documentaries, essay & experimental films, art pieces, etc. But for the majority of narrative fiction, continuity exists to protect the imagined world so that the power of cinema can come through. That’s what I help to do.
